The word Kushinda is translated in the following manner; Ku-means Chief, Shinda means Strategist or Conqueror and the word Ryu is from the Japanese language, and means Method. The Kushindaryu is a vehicle to help people whether they are men, women or children, to become combative against obstacles in life.
Kushindaryu Martial Arts:
Kushindaryu Martial Arts is a combination of Tai Chi Yoga, Shotokan Karate, Goju Karate and Jujutsu, along with Karate Boxing, and Strategic Fighting Tactics. Kushindaryu includes Yoga exercises, special breathing exercises and mental conditioning exercises. Kushindaryu is based on a spiritual foundation which we call high consciousness; this spiritual foundation is greater than ourselves.
The purpose of Kushindaryu is to build character in our students and to strengthen their minds and bodies. The main purpose of Kushindaryu is to empower people to become warriors against drugs, illiteracy, self-destruction, low self-esteem and immoral ways of thinking. We believe that by exercising the mind and the body on a regular basis, we can build positive self-esteem, self-respect, and good moral values. All of this is achieved through Martial Arts, and will assist the student to become more spiritually aware and to live a balanced and productive life.
